Britain’s foremost expert on Australian wine, Matthew Jukes, is back in town this week, hosting a dinner at Old Parliament House featuring the best of Canberra’s wines.

Jukes chose the Canberra wines after a tour of local wineries in September and with the help of Clonakilla winemaker Tim Kirk.

So you’ll get brackets of three rieslings, three alternative red varieties, three shirazes, including the flagship Clonakilla shiraz viognier, a bubbly and a sweet wine.

The winemakers will speak along with Jukes at the fund-raising dinner. It’s a chance also to see the new caterers in action at Old Parliament House. Friday, November 8, 6.30pm, $150, with $90 from each ticket going to St Vincent de Paul, vinnies.org.au/events.
