Cocktails don't get much easier or more refreshing than a highball. Whisky might not be the first spirit you associate with summer, but it's a real gem topped up with soda or mineral water on hot day (and seems to taste even better when there's tennis or cricket on the box).

Johnnie Walker Red Label is brilliant in a highball as the whisky was created with the cocktail in mind, but feel free to use any spirit that takes your fancy.

Here's a recipe from Diageo's Sean Baxter.
