2010 Bress Le Grand Coq Noir
The French name of this Harcourt Valley shiraz is difficult to translate (something about a chicken); the wine has a distinct European accent. Plum, spice, game and foresty aromas lead through a super-smooth palate, fine tannins and a lingering finish. (Screw cap; 14 per cent alcohol.)
Ageing? Drink over eight years.
