2011 Mandoleto Nero d'Avola Sicilia
Previous vintages of this red spoke of sunburnt Sicilia — raisined fruit and stony ground dissolved in a glass. The 2011 is more refined but full of personality. (Screw cap; 13.5 per cent alcohol.)
