2011 Parnasse Cabernet Sauvignon
A bargain cabernet from the Pays d'Oc in France's south, this is deeply coloured, with blackberries, currants, dry herbs and earth on the nose, dressed in a light dusting of cedary oak. On the light side of medium-bodied, the palate is smooth with soft background tannins. (Screw cap; 13 per cent alcohol.)
Food ideas Lamb kebabs.
