Is that $70 for a McLaren Vale grenache? It may seem excessive at first but this is no ordinary wine. It's a superb example of just how great South Australian grenache can be. Made from very old vines, it has a profound yet elegant nose combining aromas of plums, crushed berries, flowers, sweet spices and Southern Vales earth in perfect harmony. The palate is a seamless, silky progression of deliciously complex flavours, finishing in a lingering, fragrant aftertaste, supported by superfine ripe tannins. An Australian classic. (Screw cap; 14.5 per cent alcohol.)
