Shimmering lemon-like varietal fruit flavour and lemony-tart acid define the Canberra's unique riesling style. In the great 2015 vintage, perhaps the best for riesling in the region's 44-year history, seductive floral aromas accompany the juicy fruit flavour. A touch of residual grape sugar softens the lemony acid and gives flesh to the mid palate, without detracting from the delicate, lingering, fresh, dry finish. Stephanie Helm, daughter of Canberra vigneron Ken Helm, and husband Ben Osborne bought Yass Valley vineyard last year, renamed it, and won two trophies with this, their first riesling.
