A stunning fit-out, faultless service and a thoughtful wine list set the stage for Squire’s food; utterly contemporary, subtle and focussed.

Not too many Brisbane chefs set off on their mountain bikes for early morning foraging expeditions. His respect for produce shines brightly on every technically adept, precision-plated dish.

Bang on trend, Public boasts a loosely constructed and quirky menu that favours congenial share plates of re-interpreted street food as well as twisted classics. The soaring space has Scandinavian sensibilities but is imbued with warmth and buckets of personality. Add a hot-shot bar team and you’ll want to linger long.
