Bubbles and truffles

Flint in the Vines will hold a truffle and champagne dinner on Saturday, July 27, which sounds like just my kind of event. It starts with truffle pizza, then the likes of truffled quail egg; scallops with chorizo; monkfish with truffled wild-mushroom risotto; pork loin with duck liver pate and truffle; a truffled brie; and truffled creme caramel. The champagnes are Perrier Jouet NV Brut, Bollinger Brut, 2002 Pol Roger, Billecart Blanc De Blanc, 2000 Gosset, and Louis Roederer rosé. 6.30pm at the restaurant at Shaw Vineyard, Murrumbateman, $130, 6227 5144.
