Dinner with a view for an out-of-town guest

The question

I wanted to take by friend, who is from out of town, to The Quadrant Resaurant on Thursday 13th Dec but it's closed all day for a function. Please recommend a similar alternative please: Nice bar to meet in, nice view, good food served well, not outrageously expensive. Thanks v much!

Drinks, dinner and harbour views - sounds like you’re planning a great night out for your guest.

Cafe Sydney could be an option – dress circle views, attentive service and crowd-pleasing food. Fingers crossed you can get a reservation – it might have to be an early or late dinner.

Over in The Rocks, there’s The Dining Room in the recently renovated Park Hyatt. It’s a bit pricier but it does have a bar (called, The Bar) and a fab harbour view. We haven’t reviewed it though, so if you go make you sure report back.
