The Orange Heritage Trail showcases the rich history of the town from the traditional Wiradjuri land owners to the settlers, gold miners and commercial traders.

F.O.O.D. Week (Food Of Orange District) is held over 10 days every April, when local producers, restaurants and wine makers combine to offer wine tastings, farmgate tours and cooking demonstrations.

Coinciding with F.O.O.D. Week is the spectacular Canowindra Balloon Challenge, just an hour down the road. Twenty hot air balloons take off every morning and late afternoon, highlighted by Balloon Glow when the balloons light up to synchronised music.

Nearby Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area offers bird watching, pretty picnic areas, a free campground with facilities and some of the most scenic walking trails in NSW.

Pick your own berries in season at Huntley Berry Farm, visit the Providores in town and grab a cellar door map and taste the renowned cool-climate wines.

"I think the farmers of this country are greatly undervalued. We talk to them and buy from them whenever we can. We stock Cottesbrook Honey, jams from Huntley Berry Farm, salads from Fresh Fodder, Trunkey Bacon & Pork, Canobolas Eggs and much more.

We source our meat locally, get flour from Manildra, juice from Narromine, olives from Canowindra, Goanna Hill oil from Molong as well as local fudge, green tea jam and fruit and veg.

For us it's about the farmers and the local community. The people of Orange are amazing and they help us support the Orange Food Van, a breakfast program for Bowen Public School, the RSPCA and Riding for the Disabled, which is a privilege."
