Feast on Asia

Filipino restaurant Kusina is hosting a ‘‘boodle feast’’ on July 28. Also known as kamayan, it’s a traditional Filipino style of dining – as in so many parts of Asia – where food is served on a wide-green banana-leaf platter and eaten with the hands. On their Facebook page, Kusina says the boodle feast menu will include grilled pork belly, grilled king prawns, baby snapper, chicken inasal (spicy grilled chicken) served with rice, papaya salad, eggplant, kinilaw or Filipino kingfish ceviche, and fried chicken wings. The restaurant plans to do a boodle feast every last Sunday of the month. It costs $33 a person and reservations are essential – last month’s feast was booked out. Dinner service starts at 6pm. Kusina is at Cooleman Court in Weston Creek. Phone 6288 8461 or see facebook.com/kusinarestaurant.
