Gusto Red Hill closing

Gusto pizza is now one of the successes of Lonsdale Street, but it began in Red Hill and has operated two stores over the past couple of years. In October when its lease expires, the Red Hill store will close, co-owner Ailsa Franklin-Browne says. Despite a $1.5 million upgrade, the shopping centre is still in poor repair, she says, and they’re looking instead to the Kingston foreshore. Gusto has bought a site in the new Element building, due to be completed late next year. Franklin-Browne is excited by the possibilities of the foreshore, where businesses are flocking right now – Brodburger does a great trade at the Glassworks and in front is C Dine in a new building, with Lonsdale Street Roasters and Mork’s Thai also due to move in.
