The Hyatt Hotel will put on a special afternoon tea buffet to raise funds for victims of the earthquake in Nepal. It will be a very large version of the hotel's usual buffet spread of pretty cakes, sandwiches, slices and pastries.

The money raised will go to the Australia Nepal Friendship Society, which is based in Canberra.

The society is currently working to provide emergency relief such as medical care, food and shelter for people affected by the massive earthquake that killed thousands last week. It's $40 or $150 for a family of four.

The afternoon tea will be held from 12.30pm-2.30pm on Sunday, May 17. And it'll be held in the atrium at the back of the hotel - the usual Sunday afternoon tea in the foyer is booked solid and will continue as usual.

It'll be a standing buffet in order to fit more people in and raise as much money as possible.
