Addis Abeba

African

Follow the smell of wafting incense and the strains of pumping Afro-pop to Addis Abeba. It's a neat room, with lime-green walls, great food and warm service. ‘Special’ tibs comes out sizzling - finely cubed lamb, with some chew but deliciously flavoured with garlic, onion, tomato and rosemary. It’s hard to go past the fresh-tasting ful, crushed fava beans enlivened with big chunks of green chilli. For a taste of everything, go for a combination plate - vegetarian or meat - of eight menu favourites, neatly dolloped atop an enormous round of injera bread. Order an Ethiopian beer, roll up your sleeves and jump in.
