Arras Restaurant: good food? Yes. Under $30? Not so much. Luckily, tucked just to the side of the fancy-restaurant entry is Arras Too, a hole-in-the-wall at which a teensy investment allows you to sample superlative goodies baked daily in the Arras kitchen. By 7.30am, a line is snaking out the door along Clarence Street. Decadent croissants - warm, buttery and oozing with chocolate - are one of the big drawcards, as is smooth, well-made coffee - unusually cheap in this part of town, at $2.50. Be sure to try house specialities, such as scotch eggs and Yorkshire pork pies.
