British

Don't be fooled by the name - this place is as laid-back, calm and airy as they come, with a cruisy playlist courtesy of former Ministry of Sound DJ, proprietor Alan Thompson (who's also responsible for the surprisingly comfy drum-stool seating). The smooth, nutty flat white ($3.30) is seriously good, as is the breakfast BRAT sandwich. Among the typically Sydney burgers and salads, Thompson's British heritage can be seen on the menu with the likes of Welsh rarebit, pork sausage and egg roll, fish finger sandwich and cider - and if there was any doubt, by the bottle of HP Sauce on the table.
