The bistro was packed when we arrived on a Sunday night: so book to be sure of an indoor table or dine in the large, nicely landscaped beer garden. Blackboard specials change weekly, with a whole baby snapper served with salad and beef and Guinness sausages with mash among the choices we agonised over. The regular menu is large and enticing - and the food doesn't disappoint. A wagyu burger was just right, served with beetroot and tasty cheese. The $9 specials on Monday and Tuesday evenings are seriously good, with the chicken schnitzel great value; steak cooked just right, and chips and salad a touch above standard pub fare.
