Sitting on one of the busiest corners in Surry Hills, this large, tastefully refurbished Art Deco hotel is something of a landmark but has yet to challenge some of the better-known pub-grub establishments in the area. That said, with meals such as a perfectly cooked-to-order 400-gram rib-eye or a delightful winter vegetable salad dotted with tasty bits of blue cheese, and hearty funghi arancini on the side, Bar Cleveland is a satisfying and relaxed Surry Hills local. The staff are pleasant, the table service friendly and there's an excellent selection of beer and a good wine list.
