Contemporary

Ten years ago, Barefoot was one of the very first serious coffee joints in Sydney, crammed into a tiny, green-tiled hole-in-the-wall at 18a Whistler Street, Manly. Now they're all grown up with an aesthetically pleasing (and larger) space next to Adriano Zumbo just off the Esplanade as well. Fans can't resist the scent of their fresh Belgian waffles and dreamy, creamy Belgian hot chocolate. The coffee is consistently well balanced and smooth, and one size fits all ($3.50). For those after something different, there is a monthly guest roaster, plus filter and cold-drip. Just don't mention the word decaf here - they don't do it and never will.
