Because everyone in the barrio is crazy about tacos, this rancho-style chow house is just the place to be. Especially when the margaritas are flowing, the tortilla chips crunching and the bocatas or sliders well, slipping down without hitting the sides. Ceviche of the day might be a fun mix of lime-cured kingfish, prawn chunks, octopus and watermelon, served with a mess of blue-corn chips. Head into the soft tacos. black bean and fetta with shreds of fried tortilla, pulled lamb with cinnamon and ancho chilli, or deep-fried fish with a cumin-lime cream and slaw. And no taqueria worth its tequila would be without sweet 'n' juicy corn cobs slathered with white cheese, chipotle mayo and lime, perhaps with a tomatoey bowl of bouncy albondigas (meatballs) on the side. Blackened banana with ice-cream, cinnamon and agave syrup ain't your average banana split. Good drinks. Cheery service. Thumbs up.
