Other cafes in Balmoral have it tough competing with this grand waterfront cafe, its bi-folding doors opening up to the sparkling harbour. Even the renowned restaurant next door has that beachy, relaxed-but-fancy thing going on. Diners come in thongs or in high heels, ready for some of the best food in town, from pancakey breakfasts to Coffin Bay oysters to duck confit with red wine risotto. There's a dizzying array of herbal infusions, black teas and cocktails, while coffee by Grounds Roasters is fruity and full-bodied, immaculately dealt with by the Bathers' barista. We've seen even one-a-day people ordering seconds. Sparkling harbour views, beach-house vibe and great food aside, BP has nine black teas, 10 green teas and herbal infusions, and a glammy high tea for the tea-lover.
