Bayleaf Brasserie

Indian$$

Tucked into an unassuming corner of the plaza is this unpretentious Indian gem. Decor is minimal, with warm maroon highlights and simple bistro tables, but the fun is all in the rich regional Indian flavours. The open kitchen delivers a tantalising bustle, with giant pots of onions caramelising on the range. Service is unobtrusive and informative, the waitstaff helpfully suggesting dishes and pickled sides. But it's fragrant plates of sesame and saffron-spiked Hyderabadi slow-cooked goat, snap-fried baby eggplant with velvety mint-coconut sauce and beef simmered with star anise, cumin and tamarind that keep locals flocking in. Keep an eye out for lunch specials.
