Modern Australian

Bean Drinking is a coffee paradise driven by owner-roaster Keith Reay, who lives and breathes the stuff. It's obvious the minute you walk in; coffee sack art and origin maps line the walls, a siphon-bar lab sits at one end, with a 5kg roaster busily browning batches of organic house beans. The roomy outdoor seating spills onto the grassy Village Green, where mums and bubs munch on wraps and snacks. It's actually more fun talking coffee inside, ordering a flight of single origins, sipping a creamy, vanilla-tinged caffe latte ($3.50), or trying a pour-over. A good spot to learn something new about your brew. If you're a wee bit obsessive about Hario glass or Japanese siphon, you'll bond with fellow beanies over the single origins at Keith Reay's coffee lab, espresso bar and boutique roaster.
