Nesting in Collingwood's unofficial Lower East Side, little Bluebird balances the bustle of its contented local clientele with aplomb. There's a hit list of winning flavours on the breakfast-dominated menu: say, mashed avocado with Meredith goat's feta, mint and lemon, served on multigrain bread with a poached egg. The pulled pork roll stands out on the lunch sandwich menu - slow-cooked pork with cabbage slaw and a kicking chilli mayo on a soft brioche roll. The coffee is a solid, smooth complement to the menu, with chocolate overtones and a mild finish, ferried out by friendly and attentive staff.
