Venture down the back of a shabby-looking plaza in Newport, and you'll find a light-filled oasis of comfy wicker chairs, great Mecca coffee ($3.50) and friendly (if a little too relaxed) staff. Breakfast is full of good eggy options, a seriously good banana smoothie and lovely handmade teas by Tea Craft. For lunch, the lamb wrap is hard to beat with its tender flaky lamb, hummus and vegies, and the chicken salad is big enough for two, bulked out with avocado, prosciutto and crisp potato. Coffee blends change regularly here with tasting notes displayed on the blackboard behind the La Marzocco coffee machine.
