Tucked around a bend in the Yarra, near the Polly Woodside, sits Byblos, a Lebanese restaurant and bar. Tables shaded by red umbrellas line the promenade, an ideal perch for an Aperol spritzer come sunset. Indoors, the decor is more ornate: all striped banquettes, eggplant-coloured curtains and copper lanterns. The drinks list is alluring, too, with inventive cocktails such as Mint Tea Sazerac (cognac, bourbon, mint tea syrup), a bevy of local brews and a sizeable wine list that includes cabernet sauvignons from Lebanon's Bekaa Valley. Snacks include garlicky chicken wings, cheese-stuffed pastries and platters to share.
