Cafe Gaia

Modern Australian$$

South Yarra's style set happily queues for a seat at this chic spot just off Toorak Road - one of the sun-drenched footpath perches, a table on the shaded patio or inside the buzzy dining room. The cafe fare is a cut above, from a house-baked raspberry and white chocolate muffin to a generous brunch of pulled pork and coleslaw on toasted brioche. A blackboard menu lists an impressive line-up of beans and extraction methods, perhaps an Aeropress showcasing a Honduras single origin or the cold drip El Guayabo, a delicate brew with a lilting hint of citrus. And there are bags of Proud Mary beans to go, too.
