Cafe Rosamond

Contemporary

Little and local, Rosamond is the cafe you’d love to find when travelling in a foreign city. (And find it you must, stretching along a Smith Street side-street.) Art-school kids swing into this cosy chamber for cleverly built simple staples. Things like Portuguese sardines in a rich tomato sauce on sourdough or home-made baked beans (also appearing as a side and in toasted sandwich with feta), with sides like buttery rosemary mushrooms, bacon or chorizo. Lunch is toasted sangers and baguettes - try creamy fior di latte with tomato and avocado. On Thursday nights dessert wizard Pierre Roelofs takes over the space.
