Cafe Sofia

Modern Australian

This light and airy Erko fave is jammed with hungry newspaper-wielding locals on weekends. Seated at sunny pavement tables, perched on courtyard stools and lounging on the leather bench seat inside, they're all here for the same thing: strong, well-made coffee and cheap, tasty food. The all-day brekkie menu offers the usual suspects with a few standouts: try herby house-made baked beans, French toast with banana, bacon and maple syrup, or a generous omelette stuffed with haloumi and potato. For lunch there are lively flavoured sandwiches, pastas and salads, such as the chicken, coriander and lime-mayo panino. Service is of the 'fend for yourself' variety but comes with a smile.
