The original Sopra site at Waterloo shut up shop last year, shifting here to the refurbished Buckland Hotel and adding wood-fired pizza to the mix (they’re thin-based, cheesy numbers). The space doesn’t have quite the same appeal, but the menu still strikes a chord with its focus on simple, fresh food with favourites such as the legendary banoffee pie still starring. Seasonal Italian food is the main game - from bucatini with meatballs, to cheese-stuffed zucchini flowers. The fresh produce section has been retained, too, with a one-time pokies room now a cool room (win!). Also in Walsh Bay, Potts Point and Bridge Street, Sydney.
