Cafe Vue

French

They’re twice cooked. That’s what makes the fries here so fine. And a humble chicken, lettuce and mayo sanger never tasted so good – maybe because it’s free-range chicken, lettuce and house-made mayo sandwiched between sourdough by Vue baker Tim Beylie. Modelled on a Parisienne bistro – mirrors, blackwood floors and bentwood chairs – Cafe Vue does classic food with a fancy, Gallic spin. The sides at lunch alone warrant a return visit – marvellously creamy moulied mash, those fries or buttered spinach. If you’re pressed for time, grab a lunchbox (with bruschetta, salad, burger and macaron) to go.
