The latest cafe from Peter van Haandel (of the State Library's Mr Tulk) is as slick an operation as one might expect from the renowned hospitality clan: stylish interior, attentive waitstaff, a strongly local wine and beer list and an enticing menu which includes the much-hyped house-made rabbit sausage rolls. The carefully extracted coffee (a signature blend from The Bean Alliance) attracts a constant stream of regulars from the office block above. The caffe freddo ($3.50), a fresh espresso shaken with plenty of ice and a touch of sugar syrup, is particularly refreshing in the heat.
