Cape Comorin

Indian$$

This suburban gem has been going strong for 18 years and is a local favourite. The setting does it no favours (it’s upstairs in a small arcade), though a recent spruce-up has helped. Failsafe standards are done well, as are less familiar options such as lamb achar, its sauce tangy with mixed pickles. It’s all skilfully cooked, distinctly flavoured, generously portioned, and satisfying without being heavy. Order carefully and you’ll stay under budget even with seafood dishes such as the mild and moreish Goan fish curry. Service can be a tad slow at busy times, but is unfailingly courteous.
