Castle Taj

Indian$$

Tucked in the back of a quiet business complex there’s a family waiting to serve you Indian classics made fresh to order. Though the setting is somewhat formal with glassware and cutlery laid out, it’s juxtaposed with friendly service as children are encouraged to draw on disposable tablecloths. There’s a wait for food, but patience is rewarded with buttery-moist fish masala and biryani that’s thoroughly infused with saffron. Paneer tikka is a highlight - cottage cheese marinated in spicy yoghurt comes sizzling on a hotplate, sending senses spiralling. Ask for mild if chilli’s not your thing: the default here is hot.
