Cattivo

Polished yet homely, Cattivo is a delightful mix of cheery service, chatty locals, spot-on coffee and good grub. Its cabinets are crammed with bready offerings like piadine stuffed with omelette, provolone and pancetta, or Roman-styled slab-pizza topped with shaved zucchini, crumbly feta and pinenuts. Mains, such as chunky braised beef and pea pasta bake, or cheesy frittata with pumpkin, potato and spinach, are elevated by sides of super-fresh salads - say, black bean with mixed veg, or radicchio, walnut and parmesan. For afters, delicate bomboloni oozing velvety custard are bliss.
