Sometimes, the best cafes are the most unlikely ones, and you have to admit that a corporate back laneway in Parramatta - even the new, improved, rebooted, we're-hip-now Parramatta - is an unlikely spot for a great cafe. But Circa is all that a cafe should be, with its high-detail coffee work and flavour-busting food. The crowd spills out of its skinny-binny interior onto wooden stools under the jaunty striped awning, hungry for fat smoked trout sandwiches, or baked eggs with sucuk sausage and feta. The double ristretto 5 Senses coffee ($3.50) is spot-on for timing and temperature, and as much care is taken with the loose-leaf tea.
