It’s like a little Colombian club here on the weekends, as homesick ex-pats gather at the handful of tables on the street over warm, spicy beef empanadas and strong Kalima coffee to talk about the latest Lat-Am salsa star to play at The Enmore. Little more than a hole-in-the-wall takeaway, it still manages to turn out big bowls of ajiaco, a comforting broth of shredded chicken, potato and corn, served with cream, rice and avocado on the side. There are Aussie brekkies, too, but you can get them anywhere, unlike crunchy-soft arepas (corn cakes) topped with beef stew and crushed avocado.
