Have your say
Climbing the marbled stairs to the first floor of Curtin House transports you from trashy Swanston Street to a parallel universe called Cookie, a cross between an old gangster movie, a European beer hall and a slightly creepy fractured fairytale. Its towering white walls, dark wood panels and lengthy bar provide a joyful backdrop to a hectic imbibing session. Fashionably coiffed, inked and bearded bar staff impart an impressive knowledge of intoxicants, a necessity when beers alone number almost 100. A dimly lit cocktail lounge is tucked behind the bar, and the kitchen sends out some of the best Thai food in town.
