Cornersmith

Sustainability is this charming cafe’s driving force. Every ingredient has a provenance and much of what is served is made from scratch on site or locally by the Cornersmith ‘family’. Sip excellent Mecca Dark Horse coffee and tuck into poached amber-yolked Archerfield eggs on Brickfields sourdough with house-made pumpkin chutney. There are also sandwiches, a ploughman’s, and the Cornersmith plate, which morphs with the seasons and might comprise pickled sardines, a jumble of brussels sprouts slaw with sharp verjus dressing, dill pickles and a dollop of Pepe Saya creme fraiche. The spin-off Picklery nearby allows you to transport the Cornersmith love home.
