The best bit is Craft isn't even trying to cater to the special diet set. It just does a small but strong range of well turned out, seasonal comfort foods that just happen to satisfy diverse dietary needs sans the usual drama. The airy decor is similarly fuss-free, with friendly service to match. Pakora in chickpea-spiced batter gets extra points for the gluten-free flour; grilled chorizo is well cut by a not-too caramelised apple with mustard seed chutney, and haloumi is left to its salty best with but a bit of roasted fennel, tomato and capers. Try the pan-fried scallops for the black pudding accompaniment if nothing else, but don't overlook the buffalo mozzarella arancini for a bit of textural balance. Even the kids are catered to with simple crowd-pleasers including salads for mum's sake. You'll want a dessert reward; banana caramel spring rolls with rich choc dipping sauce and vanilla bean ice-cream makes for a finger-licking finish.
