Less than a year old, Curious Goose sits so comfortably on Sydney Road that it seems to always have been there. The decor mixes old and new: a vintage trike, shelves of books and goose-themed stamps blown up to poster size. The menu features cafe classics with a worldly outlook, all deftly handled. Roasted pumpkin, chickpea and felafel combine in a crumble, soft-shell tacos are filled with tender salt-and-pepper squid, and spicy sucuk partners baked egg. The house-blend coffee from Industry Beans is rich and full-bodied, with dark chocolate undertones, and a roster of single origins changes regularly.
