This hole-in-the-wall is tucked just inside the old-fashioned Hub Arcade. It's all DIY, from the low table in the arcade fashioned from MDF, milk crates and cable ties to a hand-doodled park bench and the breakfast tarts made in the tiny prep space - maybe a tasty number with ham and sweetcorn in delicious just-set scrambly egg, served with a side salad of soft-boiled egg and salad greens. The Maling Room house blend - 50/50 Yirgacheffe/Colombian - is a robust cup, round and fruity, with some deeper nutty chocolate notes and a tangy, bittersweet finish.
