Dino's

14/20

Spanish$$

Windsor, Chapel Street's once-seedy southern end, has become a magnet for collectibles dealers and retro boutiques. Dino's Latino-inspired cafe-bar echoes the mood with art nouveau leadlight, panelled alcoves, trophy bottles, European posters and art-tiled feature walls. The kitchen starts work early with breakfast and snacks such as churros and chocolate, and bocadillo - bread sliced lengthwise with eggs, bacon and relish. The rest of the time staff deliver tapas such as char-grilled sardines, or thin shavings of jamon from different producers with crunchy bread, and larger raciones, with a friendly manana manner. Prop at the bar or huddle inside for light, fresh dishes such as corn tortilla and soft-shell crab with saffron and lime aioli, or tangy lime-cured kingfish ceviche. Finish by paying homage to crunchy-topped crema catalana with a Pedro Ximenez.
