Duchess of Spotswood

Contemporary$$

The Duchess is a little bit fancy- not too fancy mind- but classy all the same. Her menu is a balanced and innovative tribute to all things British; it's peppered with ingredients such as English stilton, dry-cured bacon, black pudding and pheasant terrine. Dish monikers carry the theme: 'royal fanfare' is salt-cured trumpeter with lamb sausages, a perfectly poached egg and sweet relish; 'Prince of Wales' is smoked salmon fillet with delicious little potato pancakes, spinach puree and a poached egg. Portions are spot-on and staff keep tightly packed punters happy with attentive but unobtrusive service. A jolly good time to be had by all.
