The food is fast, fresh and piled high, and the prices are loopy-low at this simple and speedy Willoughby favourite. Grab a table by the orange and black tiled wall, opposite the counter action. Golden bags, spring rolls and curry puffs are kept warm in a cabinet, but are surprisingly crunchy. The chilli and basil hokkien noodles with chicken is loaded with snow peas, broccoli, beans, capsicum and mushrooms. The pork belly special is a fair mix of crisp and chewy, atop an unscalable mountain of broccoli. But it’s the enormous, fragrant laksa bowls that are the hit of the hut.
