Fish Place

Seafood

Former sandwich shop gets op-shop fit-out, right through to the cute back courtyard. And it’s not just about sangers, fries in $3.50 ‘chippy cups’ (cute as they may be) and the serve-yourself drinks fridge. For a start, the mini on-site smokehouse isn’t just there for decoration. The chimney stack gets smoking daily, resulting in sweet house-smoked salmon to partner cream cheese and red onion on a bagel, or a hunk of hot-smoked ocean trout cosying up to a bright-coloured salad or a big dollop of electric-green pea mash. There’s grilled fish and battered fish, too, all served on brown paper in cute eco boxes. Nice.
