Seafood$$$

Quality seafood laced with some Asian notes is the main event at this sleek two-storey waterside loft. That includes one of the city's better selections of oysters, plus a serious sashimi bar. The main menu is awash with contemporary touches, and consecutive amuse-bouche signal a generous start - maybe sumac grissini dipped in salmon mousse and dusted with nori, or a morsel of ocean trout beautifully balanced by herbed creme fraiche. Roasted blue-eye is soft, flaky and ever-so-buttery, seasoned with fine samphire strands and accessorised with hazelnuts, baby vegetables and a pinch of brown butter powder. Sri Lankan cuisine informs a crisp-skinned snapper fillet with chilli-spiced coconut jasmine rice - although the pouring jug of curry lacked authentic heat. In this sexy wood-beam and glass space, only the amber glow of the chandelier's 270 globes dares compete for attention with the harbour views.
