The Mexican frenzy continues with Fonda, a funky little cantina that exploded onto the dining scene with an almighty areba. In the kitchen is Ravi Presser (ex Cumulus Inc, Kinfolk), with menu input from Mexican chef Lupita Manzo. From day dot, punters poured in - one burrito, please (a hot tortilla holding a beef-and-pork patty with red cabbage, black beans and salsa roja) and a side of charred corn with chipotle aioli and salted ricotta. Or perhaps a chorizo quesadilla or taco (braised pork and pineapple, zucchini, or fresh fish) is more your speed. Sweet Mexican soft drinks are on offer, along with margaritas and Mexican beers. As the welcome on the wall says: 'Mi casa, su casa'.
