Footscray Milking Station

Locals in this residential pocket of Footscray used to come here to get their milk bottles refilled. Now the milk bottles are water bottles, and the refills are seasonal breakfasts and lunches with a cheffy edge. Breakfast might feature an omelette with asparagus and squishes of tangy cream cheese, or burnt-butter pancakes with pecans and blueberries. Lunch may be a hearty lentil soup with tender chunks of pork hock, or a pulled-pork panini, beef ragu wrap, or eggplant quesadilla. The raw-brick and white-tiled space is compact but you can spill to a pretty rear courtyard, weather permitting.
